Hair Mineral Analysis

What is a Hair Mineral Analysis?
The hair analysis measures the content of 20 minerals and toxic metals in hair tissue. Since hair tissue is living tissue, the mineral status on hair can reflect the mineral status of other living tissues inside the body. You can find that you are deficient or have an excess amount of a mineral, or the minerals may have low bioavailability and cannot be used by the body even though they are present.

Why do we do a Hair Mineral Analysis?
First, minerals are involved in almost every enzymatic process in the body so mineral balance is essential for optimal wellness. The mineral content of your hair will provide us with a map of your mineral profile in your body. We can determine what vitamins and minerals your body needs. With this map we can more effectively find solutions to bring your body back into balance. Mineral imbalances can be corrected through the diet and supplementation with whole food based supplements.

What are some early signs of mineral imbalance?
• Ridging in the nails
• Brittle hair and nails
• White spots in fingernails
• Deep grooves across nails
• Stretch marks
• Lack of growth
• Mood swings

What causes mineral imbalance?
• Stress
• Medications
• Birth control pills
• Accumulation of toxic metals (exposure from environment, non-organic food, your job)
• Inheritance of mineral patterns from parents
• Taking supplements that are not compatible with your current body chemistry
• Improper diet (excessive carbohydrate and sugar intake, strict vegetarian diets or other exclusive diets)

Congratulations to the Chicago BLACKHAWKS 2010 Stanley Cup Winners!

"Eat Like the Pros is a huge part of my everyday routine. Heading into the playoffs after 82 regular season games, I feel as strong and as healthy as I did in training camp in September. Making sure my body is ready to perform is very important, and Eat Like the Pros along with Julie Burns have helped me incredibly."
